Scholarship for Poor Brilliant Students

Mr. Rashid believed that educating one child could transform an entire family and strengthen society. Despite knowing that supporting a student until graduation might require BDT 400,000–500,000 or even more, he remained committed to investing in their future rather than allowing talent to be lost.

The journey began with five seventh-grade students from extremely poor families, all of whom had previously earned merit scholarships in primary school but had dropped out due to financial hardship. From 2008, Mr. Rashid personally covered their education expenses and provided each family with a monthly allowance of BDT 2,500, enabling the students to return to school.

As more deserving students sought assistance, he realized that personal funding alone would never be enough. Inspired by compassion, he launched a scholarship initiative under the promise:

Without obtaining Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) approval, the Foundation introduced its monthly scholarship program and initially supported 41 talented students. The goal was simple—to ensure that talented students could complete their education, develop into skilled professionals and contribute meaningfully to society.

By June 2025, the Foundation had awarded scholarships to 501 students, while 191 had successfully completed their education. Many alumni now serve as BCS officers, doctors, engineers, university lecturers, teachers and professionals across different sectors.

The scholarship is not repayable. Instead, beneficiaries are encouraged to establish themselves in life and later support another talented student in need, creating a continuous cycle of education, compassion and social responsibility.

To expand and institutionalize these educational initiatives, the organization was officially registered in 2020 as ASPADA Education Foundation under the Joint Stock Companies (Registration No. S-13448/2020).
